C2, M26C, X26C, X2 TASER Guns for Protection
Modern TASER® devices are the culmination of decades of research in non-lethal self-defense. Just like stun guns, they are designed for people who want to be able to defend themselves but not with lethal force. For police officers, there is an opportunity to make a quick, clean arrest without having to resort to pulling a gun out. That is why the police, the military, and private security firms use TASER guns for protection. Thanks to TASER® devices for civilian use, so can you.

TASER or Stun Gun?
With a TASER use of force is reduced to a minimum compared to modern firearms. Even a weak handgun can pose a much worse threat to life than any TASER® model ever could, whether for public or police use.
Both stun guns and TASER guns are considered CEDs or Conductive Electrical Devices, and both are used by the police, but the two are built differently. With a TASER®, you can incapacitate an attacker from a distance, lessening the chances of you getting hurt during an encounter. You will not have to wait for your attacker to get close before you can administer a painful electric shock. And it will not just be a painful shock, either, because a TASER® is designed for neuromuscular incapacitation, ensuring that your attacker will be under no condition to be violent, giving you the opportunity to escape.
Additionally, the TASER® can be as effective without ranged ammo. Every new TASER® model comes with a Contact Stun Feature, which activates the electrodes in front of the device, allowing its stopping power to be applied in close quarters. This is useful for when you have been cornered by your attacker.
If you are a student, nurse, teacher, doctor, lawyer, delivery person, or private investigator whose work forces you to walk dangerous streets at night, you can't always rely on the police to escort you. What is the next best thing?
The Takedown Ability of a TASER®
“Designed by law enforcement for law enforcement,” the TASER® X2 was developed by collecting suggestions from police and private security officers and applying the ones that made the most sense. The result is a weatherproof, compact, and lightweight weapon with numerous features. The Warning Arc is a bright and loud display of electricity that is enough to scare off some criminals. If that fails, Dual Lasers are bound to improve your aim, even if you are a complete novice. Its capability to fire Immediate Backup Shots has you covered in case you miss the first time. Its built-in digital Current Metering maximizes the weapon's safety and minimizes lethal risk by applying only the right amount of charge for taking down an attacker, which is the main reason TASER® classifies the X2 in its Smart Weapons category (along with the X26P).
The X2 looks handsome in either black or yellow, and its PPM or Performance Power Magazine can give you up to 500 firings. Keep your X2 handy in the separately sold X2 Defender Blackhawk Holster. Mastering all the features of the X2 may take some time, but it is going to be well worth it.
Just as compact and lightweight is the TASER® X26C. While not armed with the newer Smart technology that regulates the charge of the X2, the X26C also features Laser Sights and a Warning Arc. Its DPM or Digital Power Magazine has a shelf life of 10 years and gives you up to 50 firings. It features a CID or Central Information Display, which indicates the battery life of the DPM. The X26C comes in different color combinations: black with silver grip plates, yellow with black grip plates, or all black with yellow details. For fluid deployment, there are the separately available X26C Blade-Tech Tek-Lok Holster and X26C Blade-Tech Thigh Holster.
TASER® Guns for First-Time Users
Are police-grade weapons a bit too much for you? There are simpler, even cheaper alternatives for those still unfamiliar with TASER® technology. One of them is the historic TASER® M26C. As the first TASER® device with the ability to cause Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation, in a way, it is the first true modern TASER®.
It uses the same live cartridges that the X26C uses, but instead of a specialized battery (like the PPM and DPM), the M26C is powered by 8 fully charged AA batteries (not included). You can carry this weapon with the Ballistic Nylon Thigh Holster. You can also purchase the separate NiMH Rechargeable Battery Charger, which includes rechargeable batteries, and in the long run, is going to be cheaper than buying fresh batteries.
If you can't choose which TASER® to buy for a son or daughter who is going off to college, or for your mom or girlfriend whom you want to be protected, you can't go wrong with the TASER® C2. It features the same takedown capability as any other modern TASER® weapon. Its Lithium Magazine allows up to 50 firings while also powering the Low Intensity Light that can help you defend yourself in dark, dangerous areas. Any first-timer will have no trouble handling the C2.
With Great Stopping Power Comes Great Responsibility
All of the cartridges for the X2, X26C, M26C, and C2 have AFID or Anti Felon Identification technology, which are confetti-like paper or tags that are released when a cartridge is fired. Each of these 20 to 30 tags contains the serial number of the cartridge. Every firing leaves behind solid evidence that your TASER® was used in the area, preventing the falsification of any TASER®-related incident.
Each of these TASER® products also comes in its own respective kit, which can include live cartridges, training cartridges, targets, and manuals. All mentioned TASER® holsters are separately available in both left- and right-handed versions.
Stay out of trouble by acquainting yourself with the existing TASER laws by state. Any TASER® device is illegal in the following states: District of Columbia, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island. The same applies for the following cities: Chicago, Annapolis, Baltimore (including Baltimore County) and Howard County in Maryland, Philadelphia, and New York City.
